Tiles Lewisham Program Call Out 2025 

February - November 2025



Tiles Lewisham is an artist-run initiative that was created as a means to offer affordable studios and exhibition space to early-career artists. Our aim is to engage with the artistic community around Sydney and beyond to create a diverse engaging exhibition program.

Tiles lewisham is currently seeking expressions of interest from artists and curators for the period of February to November 2025 for a 3-week exhibition project. Our 2025 program will be made up of six group exhibitions consisting of both selected individual artists and group applications. Our aim is to provide a space to facilatate the presentation of new works and cross collaboration between artists.

You can either apply as an individual artist to be curated into a group exhibition or as an artist or cutator with a proposed group exhibition.

Applications close midnight Sunday 27th October. Artists will be notified via email by December 2024.

EXHIBITION DURATION AND OPENING HOURS
Exhibitions will run for a 3-week period with installation 3-days before opening. Opening hours will be Sat-Sun 12-4. Artists/Curators are expected to open the gallery and invigilate during the opening times allotted. 


INSTALLATION AND DE-INSTALLATION
Gallery Installation will be undertaken by the Tiles team members. Placement and curation, fixtures and hanging height will be discussed before installation. Deinstall will be up to the Artist/Curator and will commence on the last day of the exhibition after 4 pm and have the space clear by 1 pm the following day.


SALE OF ARTWORK
Tiles Lewisham does not take a commission of any artwork sold and all sales are facilitated through the artist.


FEE AND SPONSOR
Tiles lewisham is a free exhibition space with drinks provided by Grifter Brewing Co, Fellr and Heaps Normal.


PROMOTION
Tiles Lewisham will provide the following for each exhibition with imagery and information provided by Artist/Curator.

- Social media support before and during the exhibition with a poster created alongside artists and curators.
- Designing a room-sheet using our template
- Documentation of the exhibition will be taken and uploaded to the tiles gallery website with images provided to artists for personal use upon request.


ARTISTS RESPONSIBILITIES
In the lead up to the proposed exhibition artists will provide high res images of their work and all related details regarding hanging and dimensions, as well as any artist statement or text to coincide with the roomsheet.


INSURANCE POLICY
Tiles Lewisham has public liability insurance for the gallery and studio premises only. This does not cover the loss or damage to artworks or any loss or damage caused by your artwork to people or property. Tiles Lewisham will do the very best to take care of artworks while at the same time we will not be responsible for artworks lost, damaged or stolen. Artists are responsible for ensuring their own artworks for transit to and from the premises and whilst on location at Tiles Lewisham.
